How It Works

Where can a casting take place?

We make it easy and wherever possible we come to you to take the casts – you don’t even need to leave your home to enjoy our service!

Currently a home visit is included in London, areas of Buckinghamshire/Berkshire, Tunbridge Wells and West Yorkshire, Leeds and Harrogate areas. If you would like to check that you can receive a free home visit simply complete our enquiry form with your postcode and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

We can also visit hospitals and hotels to take the casts. As long as there is warm water and enough room to set up the equipment, we can cast!

What if I fall outside the home visit area?

  1. We may still be able to offer a home visit but make a charge for extra travel and time required. Enter your details and postcode on our enquiry form to receive a quote.
  2. You can visit one of our casting venues. If you visit our workshop in Clapham you will receive a discount.
  3. Alternatively, why not try our Casting Kit to take your own moulds. Send the moulds to us to create your treasured casts in the finish and display of your choice.

What to expect from a home casting visit

  • The home visit for a baby casting typically lasts around 30-45 minutes. For an adult casting it is around 60 minutes but depends on what is being cast.

  • There is no preparation required on your part.

  • We will bring a selection of samples for you to look at and talk through all the options and possibilities with you. Our professional Casting Artists have years of experience and knowledge so can offer guidance to help you decide which casts are best for you.

  • Once you have decided what you would like we will create a job sheet with all the details for you to check. All the cast details, contact details and payment are taken at the time of the casting visit.

  • Ideally the casts are taken in the kitchen as the Casting Artist requires access to warm water and a table/worktop.

  • We will talk you through the finer details of how the process works such as how to make your baby comfortable, the best positions to be in to get a good mould, the timing of mixing the casting mousse and setting times.

  • Taking the mould itself is a quick and simple process using a very gentle casting mousse and takes less than a minute – we capture even the wriggliest of fingers and toes!

  • The moulds are taken to our workshop to be crafted into your treasured casts.

  • Your finished casts will be safely delivered to you. If you need them by a specific date please let us know at the time of the casting and we will endeavour to meet any deadline you may have.

We are more than happy to answer any questions you have about the process
